Television · 1915
Television as we know it did not exist in 1915. Home entertainment in this period came from newspapers, books, gramophone records, live theatre and music hall, and — later in the era — cinema and radio. Television was still laboratory work: regular experimental broadcasts began in the late 1920s, a public service followed in the 1930s, and television only reached ordinary homes in large numbers after the Second World War.
